We are working on several Headgear/ Hood versions, that also work to circumvent current and projected parts supply issues. We’ve built several prototypes using a range of design styles. This model is our latest 1 Piece Basic PAPR v2.2 design. It uses 2 layers of Dupont 1443R Tyvek, A PETG face shield and configured to mate with both our in-house Open-Mask belt-pack power unit, as well as the 3M Versiflo units commonly used by hospitals globally.
We will be releasing our designs for anyone, anywhere to build or build from, plus we will build units in-house to meet local demand during these urgent times.
The Open-Mask PAPR Hood v2.2 uses commonly available internal head crown suspensions hardware that allows production to scale very rapidly
The Open-Mask PAPR designs and patterns are released globally for all to use, build or build from. Our core goal is to get as many PAPR Respirators in the hands of as many front line Healthcare Workers, Swab Testers and other related High-Risk Workers as quickly as possible
We have other models based on 3m face shields and Tyvek hood material. Plus others based on much more available hard-hats and helmets. We will also be having to make our own face shields cut out from PETG sheet stock. These adjustments should solve all supply issues.
We are using Tyvek and Nylon Ripstop in these early samples, but expect the materials to also evolve before final production.
Template patterns for the release models will be published once final designs are dialed-in.
